Potters and Ceramic Artists! Do you have body pain and limits while working on the wheel or hand building with clay in the studio? We have the solution! Join Cheryl Drake-Bowers, Certified in Advanced Myofascial Techniques, ScarWork Teacher and Certified Movement Intelligence teacher for this practical and solutions oriented experience in the ceramics studio. Cheryl brings 35 years of professional, body-centered education and trainings to her intensive hobby of working with clay. Pain and movement difficulties are not random. The system of the body, responds to implicit movement patterns and working with clay brings the human body and the clay body into relationship. Whether it is your hand, wrist, finger, back or neck, it doesn’t matter. Come away from this experiential class with new possibilites for moving pain free in the way that nature intended.
Class is taught in four classes of 2 1/2 hours each at Simca Ceramics studio in Matthews, NC. Expect to work with clay, explore body positions, and new orientations for all movement you do in the studio. Students will learn self treatment techniques for specific body issues related to their work as ceramic artists.
